Sanctuary Restoration/Renovation

      The Restoration Committee is pleased to announce that our first Sunday in our restored sanctuary will be Sunday, June 13.  In consultation with Ray Black & Son, we are confident all projects will be completed by that day.

      In the coming days, you will receive many requests to assist us as we prepare the sanctuary, parlor, and library for that day. Our deacons are also planning intentional initiatives to invite members of our community to share our joy as we return to that beautiful room dedicated to the worship of God. The initial focus of that initiative will be a series of special events from June 13 through June 20.

     We anticipate two Sundays of celebration and thanksgiving. The first Sunday will be something of a “family affair.” At this time, it is impossible to anticipate what we will feel when we return to our sanctuary for the first time in eighteen months. Our experience of that day will be in stark contrast with that of someone who may be worshipping with us the first time. On Sunday, June 20, we will  invite our entire community to worship with us. During that service, we will offer our thanks to those individuals and groups who stood by us and sustained us as our Lord led us on this long journey of recovery, restoration, renewal, and rebirth.

On December 4, 2008, the Immanuel Sanctuary suffered extensive damage in a fire.  Pictures of the periodic progress of this work can be found below.
