PROCEDURES FOR REGISTRATION 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR

Registration for students presently enrolled in Immanuel Preschool will be Wednesday, March 12 from 8:30am-12:30am.  Thursday, March 13, Immanuel Baptist Church members may enroll from 8:30am-10:30am.  Siblings of 07-08 students may enroll Thursday, March 13 from 10:30am-12:30pm.  Open registration for new families will be Friday, March 14 from 8:30am-12:30am.  Parents must be present to enroll.  If parent can not attend then a designated representative must be present at registration.  The director must be notified prior to registration if parent cannot be present.  Students will be enrolled on a first come basis. Any outstanding fees must be addressed prior to registration. A $50 non-refundable registration fee is required.  Children enrolling in the Threes classes will need to be potty trained by the beginning of school next August.

Our classrooms are organized by learning centers and we plan for a balance of child-directed and teacher-directed activities. 

Our goal is introduce children to appropriate social skills, cognitive skills, language development, fine and gross motor skills, pre-reading skills, pre-math skills, science activities, art activities, home living/dramatic play, blocks and puzzles, manipulatives, and music.

We are licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  Our preschool program includes hands-on learning, small intimate classes, two teachers per class, an outdoor discovery area, an indoor gym, parent-teacher conferences, weekly class diaries, monthly newsletter, Parent-Child Fun Nite, and a happy & safe environment.  We follow the Paducah City School calendar.

Purpose:

Immanuel Preschool is a ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church, Paducah, KY, which operates as a weekday paid tuition program.  We presently offer classes for two, three, four, and five-year old children.  Classes are offered to meet the needs of families living in our community as well as families of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Philosophy:

"Train children in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6

We believe that God is the designer of how people grow and develop.  God's design for young children is in a sequential manner with predictable stages of development.  We recognize that each child is unique and valuable.  To respect the nature of the child and the progression of development is to respect God's dynamic creation.

It is our goal to provide helps and challenges in this growing process through a balanced and well planned program.  Our daily schedule consists of "hands on" learning while participating in individual, small group, and large group activities. 

It is our intention to nurture the development of the whole child by focusing on spiritual, physical, emotional, social or cognitive growth.  As Christian teachers, it is our desire to provide a loving and positive environment involving God and His principles of life.
