Ensembles
are provided for every age group from pre-school through senior adults
with vocal & instrumental opportunities to enhance worship at Immanuel.
Preschool I and II Choirs:
Boys and girls ages 2 through kindergarten are taught the
very basics of music, including pitch matching. Rehearsal: Wednesdays as
part of the Map Makers program. Directors: Steve Skaggs
Music Makers:
A graduated scale of musical goals for each grade provides
learning opportunities for children in grades 1& 2. Four or five
performance opportunities per year are scheduled including participation
in The Life of Christ in Living Pictures. Rehearsal:

Young Musicians:
This choir for children in grades 3-5 include music
theory, composer study, hymn studies, and singing. Rehearsal:

Sanctuary Choir:
An ensemble for college age and above, the Sanctuary Choir
serves as the regular worship choir on Sunday mornings. The Life of Christ in Living
Pictures is the main presentation of this ensemble. Rehearsal,
Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m. Director: Steven Skaggs
Orchestra:
An ensemble of various orchestral instruments comprised of
youth and adults. The orchestra plays during Sunday morning worship and at
special performances. Rehearsal, 2nd and 4th Sundays, 5:00 p.m. Director:
Steve Skaggs
Children’s Chimes I & II:
Boys & girls in grades 1, 2, & 3 are members of these
ensembles. Rehearsals, Wednesday, 5:15 p.m. Directors: Steve Skaggs
Children’s & Adult Handbells:
Children (Grades 4 & 5) and Adults
are members of these three ensembles. Performances are scheduled
throughout the year for all three groups. Rehearsals, Children, Wednesday,
5:15 p.m. Adult, Wednesday, 6:15 p.m.

The Life of Christ in Living Pictures:
The 2006 presentation (December 7-10) was
the 23rd year for this ministry that involves over 200
members of Immanuel. The Life of Christ in Living Pictures is a
musical/dramatic portrait of the life of Christ. The 2006
presentation was an original work commissioned specifically for The Life
of Christ in Living Pictures and is entitled "The Light!".
The 2007 presentation will be December 6-9 and will feature music and
drama from "The Light!" in a reworked format.
